About this course
This online interactive course goes into detail on a wide range of mental health conditions and the support and help provided by healthcare professionals.
The course gives learners the tools, knowledge and confidence to provide First Aid for Mental Health in their workplace.
Learners will study both common mental health concerns and more complex mental health illnesses including personality disorders, bipolar disorder, psychosis, schizophrenia, eating disorders, depression and anxiety.
They’ll also explore the impact of stress on mental health and the risks associated with suicidal thoughts, self-harm and post-traumatic stress disorder. Learners will look at ways to implement a positive mental health culture within the workplace, and delve into the effects of drugs and alcohol on mental wellbeing.
The interactive online workshop is delivered by qualified tutors, each with a background of working within the mental health industry. All learning resources are included.
The Supervising First Aid for Mental Health course qualifies learners as mental health first aiders within the workplace. They will need to requalify after three years.
The assessment for this course will be completed remotely.
