About this course
This apprenticeship is for experienced care workers who are recognised as a lead practitioner within their care team and wish to hone their leadership skills.
What to expect…
On this apprenticeship, you’ll build expert knowledge in specialist areas such as care needs assessment, rehabilitation, and assistive technology, while developing the leadership skills to influence high-quality, person-centred care. You’ll grow into a trusted professional who can coach others, uphold best practice, and confidently drive improvement across adult care services.
The varied content covers the statutory frameworks, standards, guidance and Codes of Practice which underpin practice and the safe delivery of services. Your apprentice will study how to mentor colleagues to encourage clients to actively participate in the way their care and support is delivered, and provide leadership and mentoring to others.
Further areas of learning include communication, dignity and human rights, safeguarding, health and wellbeing, and professional development. This apprenticeship is suitable for people already working in a senior role within health and social care.
Functional Skills: If an apprentice is aged 16-18 and has not previously achieved the required level of English and maths, they will need to complete Functional Skills as part of their apprenticeship programme.
While Functional Skills are no longer mandatory for adult apprentices (19+), literacy and numeracy skills remain essential for success.
For those without prior English and Maths qualifications, we recommend level 1 in maths and level 2 in English to support career growth and workplace efficiency.
Our tailored support ensures these skills are seamlessly integrated into the apprenticeship journey, helping every apprentice develop these vital skills.
