Gemma Cadden

People Director

Gemma has built her career in the hospitality and HR sector, working with some of the UK’s leading brands. She started in hospitality, gaining hands-on experience in customer-facing roles before moving into HR, where she has spent over a decade shaping people strategies and fostering positive workplace cultures within the retail, care and hospitality sectors.

Gemma has progressed through senior HR roles at Tommies Childcare Ltd, Fossil Group, Bella Italia, Cafe Rouge & Belgo. She has extensive experience in leadership development, employee engagement and driving business growth through people-focused initiatives.

Passionate about creating inclusive and supportive workplaces, Gemma is a strong advocate for social mobility and ensuring opportunities are accessible to all. She champions apprenticeships as a powerful pathway for those who don’t follow the traditional education route, believing in their ability to unlock potential and foster career growth. Having achieved all of her further education while working full-time – including a Level 3 CIPD qualification, a degree and a CIPD-accredited master’s in Human Resources Management- she understands firsthand the value of alternative routes to success and is committed to helping others thrive.

Beyond her professional work, Gemma is dedicated to giving back. She volunteers for Make-A-Wish Children’s Foundation and Anesis Homeless Charity in Coventry, supporting causes close to her heart.

Outside of work, Gemma, a proud mum of two, loves to travel and has explored destinations around the world, including South East Asia and America. Having also lived in Australia for six years, she developed a deep appreciation for different cultures and cuisines, which continues to inspire her travels.
