In line with our ‘Year of Retention’ campaign, we’re proud to announce one third of our staff have been with HIT Training Ltd and its specialist divisions (HIT Training, C2C and EDN) for over 10 years.

We’ve set out to turn the tide on ‘The Great Resignation’ of 2021 when workers around the UK left their jobs in record numbers and look at how investing in training is an ideal way of attracting and retaining staff.

Here at HIT, we believe training and apprenticeships support career development and are one of the best ways to nurture continual learning for both new and existing employees who wish to upskill.

We’ve called it our ‘Year of Retention’ campaign and it’s working!

At our HIT Summer Conference, we welcomed 38 ‘graduate’ apprentices on stage who have all completed qualifications while working for HIT. These ranged from learning mentor, learning and development practitioner and business administrator.

HIT’s high distinction rate

We also have a staggering internal apprenticeship distinction rate of 89 per cent demonstrating HIT’s commitment to staff development.

“It’s a figure which sets us apart from other training organisations and shows our apprentices not only take their learning seriously but they also smash it at end-point assessment,” says HIT Head of Quality Micaela Barlow. “We are enormously proud of the HIT team.”

HIT is Disability Confident and a Living Wage employer

HIT is also proud to announce we are now Disability Confident Committed and a Real Living Wage employer, two accreditations which again demonstrate HIT’s long-term commitment to our people based on ethical values and offering opportunities for all to develop and grow a career with us.

Whatever the size of your business, the Disability Confident badge, valid for three years, grants any employer access to tools, guidance and advice that will help you to increase your understanding of disability.

The scheme aims to remove barriers that might be preventing disabled people and those with long term health conditions from accessing employment with you. It also provides employers with the knowledge, skills and confidence they need to attract, recruit and retain from the widest possible pool of talent.

While the Disability Confident certificate shows our commitment to developing an inclusive workplace, our Real Living Wage accreditation places us among 10,000 UK employers who are now signed up with the Living Wage Foundation.

As a Living Wage employer, we are committed to paying all staff – including contracted workers – the independently calculated rate, currently set at £9.90 in the UK and £11.05 in London.
