Level 2 Health and Social Care Foundation Apprenticeship
As a Foundation Apprentice in Health and Social Care, you’ll gain hands-on experience in real care settings while building essential skills like teamwork, empathy, and delivering
person-centred care. Over the 8-month programme, you’ll develop the knowledge and confidence needed for roles such as Care Assistant, Healthcare Support Worker, or Nursing Assistant. By the end, you’ll have a nationally recognised qualification, a completed portfolio, and the readiness to step into a meaningful career that makes a real difference in people’s lives.
This 8-month programme offers a blended learning experience – combining hands-on workplace practice with essential theoretical knowledge to build confidence, skills, and a passion for care.
Who is it for?
Specifically designed for:
- Young people aged 16–21
- Or up to 25 with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP)
Whether they’re leaving school or exploring their next steps, this programme offers a supportive route into the health and social care sector.

💷 Employer Incentives & Funding
Employers can receive up to £2,000 per apprentice (max. 7), which is paid in instalments as outlined below:
- £667 after 90 days on-programme
- £667 after 242 days on-programme
- £666 progression bonus if the learner completes the programme and starts a full apprenticeship within 6 months, remaining with the same employer.
Additional Incentives:
✅ Fully funded training for learners aged up to 21 (or 22–24 with EHCP)
✅ £1,000 bonus for hiring a 16–18 year old

Employers will determine their own entry requirements for an employee to commence this apprenticeship, but general entry requirements apply.
