Tenacres Little Folks Pre-school is dedicated to providing high-quality Early Years education, nurturing young children through rich learning experiences.

Why Apprenticeships?

We believe that investing in staff development is essential to delivering outstanding care and education, which is why we actively support apprenticeships within our setting.

Currently, three of our staff members are completing apprenticeships with Connect2Care, working towards Level 2 Early Years Practitioner and Level 3 Early Years Educator qualifications. Two others have already completed their apprenticeships, using their training to enhance their roles. These qualifications provide our team with both theoretical knowledge and practical experience, ensuring they are well-equipped to support children’s development effectively.

Benefitting the Business

Apprenticeships have significantly contributed to staff confidence, engagement, and professional growth. By embedding training into daily practice, our team members apply new skills immediately, deepening their understanding of Early Years education and strengthening their ability to create engaging learning environments.

Through weekly team meetings and termly one-to-one reviews, we actively identify training needs and encourage continuous learning. This approach helps staff build on their strengths, ensuring they feel valued and supported in their careers. The result is a highly motivated team that takes pride in delivering high-quality childcare while continuously developing their expertise.

Staff retention has also benefited from our commitment to training. Our positive learning culture, combined with structured career development opportunities, ensures that employees feel recognised and empowered. By fostering a workplace where individuals are encouraged to grow, share ideas, and refine their skills, we maintain a strong and dedicated team.

The Connect2Care Difference

One of the key reasons we continue to choose Connect2Care as our training provider is the outstanding support from our trainer, Louise Woodhead. Her industry expertise, approachability, and tailored teaching methods have made a significant impact on our apprentices’ confidence and skill development.

Louise’s ability to adapt her teaching style to meet individual learning needs has fostered an engaging and supportive training environment. Our staff frequently highlight how her guidance has helped them develop not only technical knowledge but also the confidence to communicate effectively, embrace challenges, and excel in their roles.

The training delivered through Connect2Care has enabled our staff to build a strong foundation of knowledge, which they continue to develop through hands-on experience and collaboration with their colleagues. As a result, our setting benefits from a skilled, confident and motivated team, ensuring the best possible outcomes for the children in our care.

We look forward to continuing our partnership with Connect2Care to develop future generations of Early Years professionals.
