An apprenticeship provider should be an asset to an Early Years setting. Is yours?

You’ve got enough to manage without chasing your training provider.

Your apprentices should be progressing, and your managers should feel supported. A high-quality training provider should understand what it takes to work in Early Years. If that isn’t happening, you don’t have to put up with it.

Connect2EarlyYears works exclusively with the Early Years sector, providing practical, responsive support that helps apprentices, and the settings they work in, to thrive.

Could your current provider be doing more to support you and your apprentices?

Spot the red flags

Is your provider delivering a service, or just a qualification?

A learner can be enrolled, attending reviews and working towards their apprenticeship while your setting is still getting a poor service. Look a little closer.

You shouldn’t have to repeatedly contact your provider for updates, arrange reviews or find out what’s happening with your apprentice.

An occasional video call isn’t the same as having a provider who understands your setting and is available – in person – when you need them.

Early Years settings require hands-on staffing. If your training provider can’t give your apprentices support on-site, you’re probably going to be left short-handed.

Generic apprenticeship knowledge isn’t enough. Your provider needs to understand the realities your practitioners face every day.

Your provider should reduce the workload around apprenticeships – not create more of it.

Getting someone through an apprenticeship is one thing. Developing a confident, capable Early Years practitioner is another.

If you recognise two or three of these, it may be time to ask whether your provider is really working for you.

Look for the green flags

This is what great apprenticeship support looks like

A good provider doesn’t sit on the sidelines, they get involved. All of our trainers have previously worked in Early Years settings, so they know first-hand exactly what practitioners and setting managers need.

This is what you should expect from your provider:

Real understanding
Early Years is unique; training should acknowledge that

Meaningful Reviews
In-person, proactively scheduled

Practical support
Training that makes practical sense

A Focus on Your Future
Helping you build better practitioners and stronger teams

Already with another provider?

You don’t have to settle for ‘good enough’

If your current provider isn’t delivering, you might assume you have to see the apprenticeship through to the end. But that’s not always the case. Changing provider may be an option, depending on the circumstances of your apprentices.

You don’t have to work out what’s possible yourself. We’ll look at the whole picture, review your current arrangements, and look at each apprentice’s progress before explaining your options.

If transferring to us gives an apprentice a better chance of success, we’ll make the process as straightforward as possible.

We do the heavy lifting, so that you can get on with running your setting.
