Social Care Commitment

The Social Care Commitment

People who work in social care make a promise to give the best care and support they can; the Social Care Commitment.

Employers and their employees choose from a range of initiatives aimed at improving their care offering, and then sign the commitment.

If you decide to get involved, you will be permitted to use the Social Care Commitment logo on your marketing materials which helps demonstrate your professionalism and gives an endorsement of your care services.

A range of resources will be provided to help you and your employees including a Social Care Commitment flipbook containing information and tasks for both parties.

About the Social Care Commitment

Launched in 2012 by Skills for Care, together with the Department of Health, the Social Care Commitment was created as a practical way to improve standards. Additional benefits are being seen in terms of increasing the public’s confidence in social care services.

Because the Social Care Commitment was designed by people working in the sector, it is straight forward to implement and therefore makes a real impact in care working environments.

It can be used as evidence by those completing the Care Certificate and other adult social care qualifications, or to demonstrate compliance with Care Quality Commission standards. You can sign the Social Care Commitment by visiting
