This 12-month Apprenticeship consists of:

  • BTEC Level 2 Certificate in Hospitality and Catering Principles
  • NVQ Level 2 Diploma in Food Production and Cooking
  • Functional Skills Maths (Level 1) 
  • Functional Skills English (Level 1) 
  • Employment Rights and Responsibilities 
  • Personal Learning and Thinking Skills

This is a professional qualification for staff who process and cook food in any type of outlet, 

including within the care sector. It is suitable for all catering staff, cooks and chefs whose outlet and menu relies mainly on pre-prepared raw materials and predominantly uses pre-prepared dishes, mixes and sauces from frozen, chilled, dried or canned sources.

Entry requirements

To start an apprenticeship with Connect2Care you have to be aged 16 years or over and must be working for at least 30 hours a week. You also need to be a resident in England and not taking part in full-time education.
